hello, i am needing help figuring out what i need for my situation. i want a multicopter focused stricly on payload and autonoumous flight thru mapping software. i need to know what the max distance is one way for a multicopter flown with gps autopolit. i plan on several “missions as you call them” a day consisting of the copter carrying a USB flashdrive stick from one side of my city to the other and landing on a rooftop. without any need for accuall control from me.
Hi! I just noticed that my contact form plugin doesn’t work after an update. Bummer!
Anyway, I would say that a well built multicopter can fly about twenty minutes if you build it light and only need an USB stick as a payload. Since you need electric motors for a multicopter, I guess you can fly longer using a nitro/gas helicopter.
It sounds a bit risky though, to fly in the middle of the city. If any things goes wrong, the copter might fall down in someones head.
Thank you for all the great info here! I’m a total newb to RC and multicopters. I am learning fast, but could you recommend a piece by piece load out for aerial photography? I’m willing to build it and learn everything, I just need some direction. I’m looking for recommendations for every part; frame, motors & esc’s, batteries, gimbal, FC, FPV, mag, gps, sonar?, controller, etc… Looking to do footage of farmland, maybe some buildings, and even a wedding or 2. I’d like to talk and network if you are available to talk. Thank you!
Thinking about getting into aerial photography / videography. For drifting, Autocross and other Automotive events. Need to get into this slowly as budget is low. So my intial investment would be around 800-1200 usd max. But Im hoping to upgrade by next year march if things go well with my first featured event in 3rd Week of October 2013. I was looking at the dji phantom, 450 and 550 but I am open to your professional opinion. Thanks Johann.
Trying to find a handle on the gear needed to do aerial photo/video. What is the all in cost to start doing this (not including the camera or monitor which I already have – GH2 cam and SmallHD DP6).
In other words, what is the ballpark figure to be able to buy all the parts needed in say a kit form, to a have a flying and controllable aerial Y6 copter….just add Panasonic GH2 and SmallHD Monitor. Charge your batteries and off you go.
Appreciate it and thank you for sharing your projects with me Joe Public, a.k.a Fanjan.
I have built a Y6 copter and have recently bought a KK2 1.6 flight control board which I have fitted to my machine.
The Y6 photograph machine looks very nice and I was wondering if you could send me the settings for the control board.
This would make my life so much better as this is the first machine I have attempted to build and do not wish to look like a rank amature and crash on my first lift off attempt.

Maybe you can find more info on http://www.diydrones.com/ or http://www.rcgroups.com
Good luck!
I want to buy a multicopter
how much many ?
You can find them fairly cheap at eg http://www.goodluckbuy.com/ and http://www.kkmulticopter.kr/and http://www.hobbyking.com/
There are some more expensive at eg http://www.dji-hobby.com/
Then there are some even more expensive alternatives from eg http://www.draganfly.com/
Hi do you still have the original gopro2 lens if so would you sell it
WAde
I made this on a first gen Gopro HD, not the Gopro2. Anyway I have no spare lens for sale. Check out ragecams.com
i want to ask about if you have any store in Saudi Arabia
Nope, no store in Saudi Arabia. I only build these multicopters for aerial photography and FPV. I don’t sell multicopters or parts.
